Nata nel 1944. Dopo il diploma di pianoforte ha iniziato lo studio della composizione, affrontando, parallelamente, altri percorsi musicali. Allieva di Franco Donatoni all'Accademia Musicale Chigiana di Siena, ove, nel 1982, le è stato assegnato il Diploma di Merito per la composizione, ha pubblicato articoli di critica musicale sul quotidiano "La Nazione" e su riviste a cadenza mensile. Per alcuni anni ha svolto attività concertistica come componente di un duo pianistico, ed ha insegnato pianoforte nella scuola statale italiana. Nella sua produzione, che comprende brani solistici, cameristici e per orchestra, edita in parte da Agenda ed Edipan, è presente l'attenzione alla relazione della musica con altre forme espressive, come la danza e le arti figurative: le sue musiche eseguite in diversi ambiti nazionali ed esteri sono state trasmesse sulla terza rete radiofonica italiana. È uno dei soci fondatori della Federazione Compositori ltaliani.

II brano, breve come indica il titolo, è costruito sul nome della pianista Esther FIückiger. Le altezze, elaborate al minimo per una maggiore riconoscibilità del materiale, sono distribuite in piccole sezioni corrispondenti alle lettere del nome, e caratterizzate dai modi specifici propri dello strumento. Arpeggi, accordi e altro come una memoria degli studi giovanili: l'artista guarda sempre la realtà con gli occhi dell'adolescente.


Born in 1944. After receiving a diploma in piano she started to study composition, confronting herself with other musical forms at the same time. After having been a student of Franco Donatoni at the Chigiana Music Academy in Siena, she received a certificate for composition. She published articles about musical review on the daily newspaper "La Nazione" and on monthly magazines. For few years she was performing in a piano duo, and she also taught piano at the Italian State School. In her work which includes solo pieces, chamber music and works for orchestra, published by Agenda and Edipan, we can find the attention to the relationship of music with other expressive forms, as dance and figurative art. Her music has been performed nationally and abroad and has been broadcasted on Radio RaiTre. She is one of the founders of the Italian Composers Foundation.

Scintilla (Sparkle) for piano. The piece, short as the title suggests, is built around the pianist's name Esther Flückiger. The notes are elaborated at their minimum, for a better recognition of the material; they are distributed in small sections, which correspond to the name's letters. They are characterized by a specific sound of the instrument itself. Arpeggios, chords as a memory of her youth studies: the artist looks always at the reality with adolescent eyes.
